Body Positivity

Hi everyone!! This week's focus is on body positivity, a very important topic for individuals our age. Everyone has struggled with their body image at some point, and in today's society with unachievable beauty standards and photo editing apps, it's impossible to love your natural yourself. However, there are ways to become more comfortable in your skin and realize how astounding and unique you are. A strategy I use every day is complementing myself when I am looking in the mirror and only focusing on the features I love. I also try to compliment my friends or even strangers on a daily basis to boost their self-esteem. Surrounding myself with positivity and positive individuals that will do the same for me is also very helpful when it comes to body positivity. I also focus on self-care and actually taking care of my body, like spa nights and fueling it with the healthy foods it needs (but also treating myself to ice cream). There is always a healthy balance, and while it is important to work out and eat well, you can always treat and reward yourself with things you love. I also enjoy listening to body positivity and self-love podcasts when I am walking to classes, doing homework, or working out. I have included a link at the bottom of this page to a body positivity podcast I like and that helps me view myself in a more positive way. I hope you will add some of these tips and strategies into your daily life, and always remember that you are perfect just the way you are:))
