Black Online Businesses to Support!
To everything from clothing, jewelry, skin care, hair products and handbags, there are so many incredible things being created and sold by various online black owned businesses. To provide a little bit of background about black-owned businesses, about 58 percent of Black-owned businesses were at risk of financial distress before the pandemic, compared with about 27 percent of white-owned businesses. The pandemic contributed to tipping 41 percent of Black-owned US businesses into closure from February to April 2020. Here are some amazing black-owned businesses I’ve recently come across that I wanted to share :)
Etsy Shops:
L Miles Handmade was created to inspire women to be unique and feel their best. Each piece of jewelry is handmade with love, in the hope of inspiring other women to follow their dreams and stand out from the crowd!
Atiwo designs is an Etsy shop run by Dorianne Atiogbe. Atiwo Designs creates and sells handmade jewelry like bracelets and earrings in such beautiful designs!
Lush and Lavish Home is a candle shop created by Nikita A. Her main product is candles in various shapes, sizes, and colors that primarily represent women’s bodies. Nikita celebrates the uniqueness of women from all different backgrounds and ethnicities through her candle shop!
Elysium Naturals Co run by Lamont and Aurian Henry is a black owned skin care shop on etsy. Their featured Items include whipped body butter, natural pure body butter, and shea body butter to create silky smooth skin!
A great website to support black-owned businesses AND to shop locally in your nearest cities is on Condé Nast Traveler. This website allows you to search by state to find local black-owned bookstores nearest your hometowns!
